The Norwegian Jotunheimen Haute Route is a 6-day summit tour in the heart of Jotunheimen National Park. Or Høgruta as it’s called in Norweigan. The route goes over at least eight glaciers and seven 2,000-metre peaks, including the highest peaks in Norway, Galdhøpiggen and Glittertind.

Accommodation is in cosy Norwegian staffed huts.

Each stage is approximately 15 km, with 1000 – 1500 meters of ascent.

All participants need to be in good shape to walk uphill and technical good to ski down in different snow off piste.

Afternoon: Arrival and sleep at DNT Gjendesheim 
 
Day 1: 7 april: Ski from Gjendesheim via Besshøe (2258m) to Memurubu

Day 2: 8 april: Ski from Memurubu via Surtningssue (2368m) to Glitterheim
Sleep at DNT Glitterheim

Day 3: 9 april: Ski from Glitterheim via Glittertinden (2452m) to Spiterstulen
Sleep at Spiterstulen

Day 4: 10april: Ski from Spiterstulen via Galdhøpiggen (2469m) to Spiterstulen
Sleep at Spiterstulen

Day 5: 11 april: Ski from Spiterstulen via Bukkeholstindan (2166m) to Leirvassbu
Sleep at DNT Leirvassbu

Day 6: 12 april: Ski from Leirvassbu via Storebjørn (2222m) to Krossbu
Sleep at DNT Gjendesheim

Day 7: 13 April: Drive home

The route can chance according to weather and snow conditions, but we will still hike from hut to hut each day.

NB. This itinerary has one more day than most Haute Route, as we spend 2 days on Spiterstulen to make sure we got time to summit Galdhøpiggen the highest peak in Norway.
